What We Learned This Week November 20-24

This week in writing, students read the book Too Many Toys for their 5 finger personal narrative assessment following the plan, draft, revise, share routine and using the prompt: What is your favourite toy? Students were assessed on their ability to follow the organizational format of a 5 finger story (topic sentence, detailed supporting sentences, an event and a feeling). Students were also assessed on their ability to add adjectives, verbs, adverbs, similes and triple scoop words to make their sentences more interesting. Furthermore, students were also assessed on writing conventions such as, spelling, punctuation, and sentence structure.
